Welcome

Forum for the Empowerment of Women (FEW) is an African lesbian, bisexual and queer organisation in South Africa, established in 2002, to create safe spaces and to advocate for the rights of black lesbian, queer, and gender non-conforming women in all of their diversity. Thus, we use the LBQ acronym to put our intersectional feminism into practice.

Our Vision

To empower, support and advocate for the holistic rights of black Lesbian, bisexual and queer women.

Our Mision

FEW empowers women by promoting a diverse Black Lesbian, Bisexual and Queer (LBQ) identity and raising awareness of Black LBQ women’s rights. FEW works within the broader human rights, LGBTIQA+, youth and women’s movements. FEW builds alliances with state actors and stakeholders across the African region.
